Chu Jian, founder of Zhongcong, visited People's Daily Online's "People's Living Room" program, where he collaborated with industry leaders to explore the integration of "AI + Manufacturing" with the dual carbon goals. From technological pathways, industrial practices, and overseas opportunities, they comprehensively outlined a panoramic blueprint for the green transformation of the manufacturing sector, providing core guidance for industry development.
The core focus of the dialogue is the key pathways for the green transformation of the manufacturing industry. Chu Jian proposed that the application of AI technologies, represented by AOP (Autonomous Operation Plant), is a critical direction for driving the green transition and efficient development of process industries. Drawing from the logic of automotive FSD (Full Self-Driving), AOP technology aims to address human reliance and efficiency bottlenecks in scenarios such as large-scale integrated refining and petrochemical plants, achieving reduced staffing and fully autonomous operation in production processes. The projected timeline of three to five years to a decade for widespread adoption sets clear milestones and development goals for the intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry.
In Chu Jian's view, all enterprises must ensure four objectives to survive in the fierce market competition: safety, quality, cost, and low carbon. Using the common plastic lunchbox as an example, he explained: "There are many lunchboxes in supermarkets, some of good quality while others soften when heated. The raw materials and production processes are largely similar, but the subtle differences in process parameters and additives result in completely different qualities." In the chemical industry, even a one-percentage-point improvement can yield immeasurable economic benefits.
Based on over 100,000 control systems and 38,000 process industrial enterprise users accumulated over the past 30 years, Zhejiang Zhongkong Technology has established an Industrial AI Data Alliance. Chu Jian stated, "By mobilizing enterprises to share production data such as temperature, pressure, flow, and liquid level to form datasets, we can develop corresponding algorithms and build industrial large models. Currently, Zhongkong Technology has generated significant economic benefits for enterprises through industrial AI models in over 300 cases.". ”
When discussing China's global competitiveness in manufacturing, Chu Jian pointed out that the global industrial transformation under the dual-carbon goals presents significant opportunities for Chinese technology to go global. China's manufacturing sector accounts for nearly 30% of the world's total added value. Leveraging vast industrial data, diverse application scenarios, and mature technical expertise, China possesses unique advantages in AI-enabled industrial fields. In the future, Honeywell will rely on its technological accumulation to promote the global expansion of Chinese industrial technology, facilitate the green transformation of global manufacturing, and enhance China's core position in the global industrial landscape.
