Dow's North American Sleep Studio

Jul. 11, 2019

Dow recently announced that it has opened a North American Sleep Studio in Lake Jackson, Texas. Texas Studio is the company's second sleep studio, after Swiss Horgen Studio, which opened in 2018.

The main task of the studio is to promote the development of polyurethane sleeping products through the cooperation of Dow R&D personnel and customers. Dow Polyurasanes sleep studio staff said comfort was the most important factor for more than half of buyers to choose mattresses. The company's latest polyurethane pillows and mattresses increase comfort, cooling and support. Sleep studios provide a place to test, analyze and customize comfort solutions. Dow invites people in the industry to work together to find and create the next generation of mattress and pillow design.

In the workplace, Dow experts work with brand owners, developers, manufacturers and retailers to identify market trends and drivers. Its sleep testing room simulates different seasons and geographical locations, helping to develop new and more comfortable materials. The studio can also test and simulate the pressure points and weight distribution on the sleeping surface. The most advanced field testing equipment allows customers to validate product design.

Jessica Chang, North American Marketing Manager of Dow Polyurethane, said: "Sleep studio strengthens our commitment to our customers and provides a competitive edge for polyurethane manufacturers, sleep product manufacturers and retailers to upgrade their brands."
